People sometimes come to hypnotherapy under some misconceptions.  A common one is that they can come along, be ‘put under’ and then ‘wake up’ to find themselves ‘cured’ of the issue they presented with to walk out the door a different person.  This sort of expectation is reinforced by watching stage hypnotists who demonstrate seemingly ‘magical’ powers with particularly suggestible people for entertainment purposes.

Hypnotherapy, by contrast, has its emphasis on therapy and not on entertainment.  The ‘no effort’ approach of stage hypnosis might seem attractive but it doesn’t work in the real world.  At Absolute Mind we work with you in a collborative way that increases your awareness of how you are creating your problem.  With this increased awareness comes empowerment to choose new ways of being and make lasting change.
